Mom,
Did you ever think you would live to see your oldest child turn 65+ and be eligible for Medicare and Social Security? Where did the years go? The quality time we spent together since I retired has meant more to me then you ever knew. For the past 30 years you and I could and have talked about many things which is ironic because in my younger years our ideals and opinions were so very different. It is true that time changes many things. We didn't always agree but we could agree to disagree without baggage.
It has been my privilege to share with you not only my children but also my grandchildren. Each of my girls have a special bond with you that I was not able to have with my own grandmothers due to their death before I became an adult. My grandchildren have the benefit of knowing their Great Grandmother. You have touched so many lives in the span of 91 years. What a legacy.
Even though my heart misses you so very much, I know you are at peace and unimaginable joy in your new home with our Father in Heaven. Thank you for instilling in me the basics and basis for my faith. I will see you again one day.
The 4 of us kids have tried and will continue to try to honor your final wishes and yours for us. There are miles between some of us however, we will still keep in touch and remain the family you made.
I love you Mom and you will always be in my heart and in my prayers. I truly know I was loved by you.
