Life Story for Jay Allan Procko

Jay Allan Procko, 68 of Hemet, California passed away on Friday July 6th, 2018 at his home in Hemet with his wife by his side.

Jay was born in New Britain, CT, August 15th 1949 to Walter and Naomi Procko. Growing up he lived in Kensington, CT before graduating from Upper Iowa University and joining the United States Air Force. During a break from the Air Force, Jay met and married Barbara Albertson May 28th 1977 in Watertown, SD. After realizing he now had a family to support Jay entered the United States Air Force for the long hull. During his time in the Air Force Jay worked with the 15th Air Force at March Air Force Base in Moreno Valley where he raised 5 children. Jay retired from the Air Force the summer of 1994. Jay continued his education and became a special education teacher until his final retirement.

Jay enjoyed reading, taking long day trips, drinking coffee and eating cake. Actually he loved all sweets. I guess that would be why he was a lovable man. In the fall of 1999 Jay lost his first wife Barbara of 23 years to cancer. He continued on with his life and his love of coffee shops which brought him to meet his current wife, Amanda Wilkins. Jay and Amanda married March 18th 2003 in Hemet, CA. They continued to live in Hemet enjoying their time together until his passing.

Jay is survived by his wife, Amanda of Hemet, CA. Son’s Robert(Kim) Procko of Riverside, CA; Bryan Procko of Perris, CA; Scott(Melissa) Procko of Chelmsford, MA and daughter Rebecca Procko of Watertown, SD. His Brother, Walt(Betty) Procko of Columbia, SC. His grandchildren, Emily Procko, Verdani Procko, Mikey Procko and Audrey Procko. His great-grandson Landon Procko.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Procko and oldest son William.

Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetary.
