Life Story for David Joseph Wasner

David Joseph Wasner
May 16, 1975 - September 2, 2018

It is with heavy heart and much sorrow that we announce the passing of David Joseph Wasner,43, of Hemet, California. He peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2018. David was born May 16, 1975 in Downey, California. He was the only son of Donald and Theresa Wasner. At the age of 2 years, he moved with his mom, dad and two older sisters to Hemet and resided there until his passing. As a child, Dave loved to draw and play with toy trucks and Hot Wheels. He also enjoyed our family’s many vacations to Pismo Beach, as well as camping and fishing trips. Dave graduated from Hemet High and soon after went to work at Genesis Construction in Hemet. A couple of years later he started working at Hemet Unified School District as a Groundskeeper at several of the school sites around the Valley. In 2002, Dave married the love of his life, Raquel Correia. They have 2 beautiful children, Zakery David (15 years) and Makenzy Rose (7 years), who were his pride and joy. Dave passed away from complications of Type 1 Diabetes, a disease he was diagnosed with at the young age of 17. It was this horrible disease that forced him to have to leave his Groundskeeping job at the School District, that he had really enjoyed. Dave was an honest, hardworking, friendly guy. He was an expert at dishing out fun-loving sarcasm and teasing. He will be missed dearly, especially at family gatherings. He was the life of the party. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Raquel, his children, Zakery and Makenzy, his parents, Donald and Theresa Wasner, his 2 sisters, Lisa Thornbury and Amy Moreau (Mark), and his many nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by his loving and loyal dog, Sam.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with the Rosary being said at 9:30 a.m. These services will both be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at 26340 Soboba St., Hemet, California, 92544.
