Life Story for James "J.R." Richard Marrs

James "J.R." Richard  Marrs
James Richard Marrs, 89, of San Jacinto, California, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born on Thursday, April 11, 1929, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to the late Benjamin and Maggie Marrs. J.R. is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Willodene Marrs; four children, Jeanne (Jim) Wells, Gerard (Barbara) Marrs, Jeannette (Jeff) Grismer, and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Marrs; six grandchildren, Brittany, Zachariah, Savannah, Ethan, Jessie, and Jamie; two siblings, Johnny (Jean) Marrs and Carolyn (Dick) Green; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Eastwood. J.R. was preceded in death by his son, Jarrell Marrs, and sister, Frances Eastwood.
J.R. served our nation honorably during the Korean war as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. He was also an active member of Shepherd's House Church of the Nazarene in San Jacinto for 55 years.
There will be a viewing on Monday evening, June 11, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2018 at 11:30am at Shepherd's House Church of the Nazarene in San Jacinto. Interment will be in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery at 1pm. Following the committal service, a reception will be held at Shepherd's House Church at 1:45pm.
